We are now ready to discover the rest of summer happiness in Naxos. Following our blog post with the southwest beaches of Naxos today, we are moving a little bit further from Lagos Mare Boutique Hotel and the beach of Agios Prokopios to discover the summer excitement that beaches on the north, east and south of Naxos have to offer!
North & Northeast Beaches of Naxos
Kalantos Beach: We are now at the north part of Naxos and the beach of Kalantos. A well protected from the winds beach with sand and clear waters. On the river next to the beach, a number of animals are finding shelter.
Panormos: Besides the harbour Panormos there is a small sandy beach whereas at the cliffs there are the ruins of the ancient acropolis of Amygdalia.
Kleidos Beach: Beaches like Kleidos are beaches with sand that are ideal for those seeking for serene moments by the sea.
Azalas Beach: Next to Moutsouna Bay on the east part of Naxos island, it is located the beach of Azala with the red rocks creating a quiet unusual beach scenery for Naxos. However, it is a good beach for those seeking for a secluded beach in Naxos.
More Southeast Beaches: The beach of Psili Amos with the cedar forest and the little bays of Alyko can be also your stops if you are in this part of the island and want to explore theses little summer paradises of Naxos.
The beaches on the southern part of Naxos
Agios Theodoros beach: If you reach up to Agios Theodoros beach, you will see the homonymous Byzantine church and you will swim in a pristine, pebbled beach.
Lionas Beach: The beach of the village Lionas has a kind of wilder setting with a pebbled beach and the crystal clear waters ideal for dives and relaxing away from the crowds.
Apolonas beach: This is the beach of the village Apollonas where you will see the one of the two Kouros statues of Naxos. The beach is sandy and you can dine in the picturesque taverns by the sea.
More southeast beaches: Once in the area, search for the beaches of Agios Fokas, the picturesque little harbour of Agios Georgios where little seals are finding home in the caves.
Ammitis beach: We are now at the southwest part of Naxos and we stop at the beach of Eggares village. A long sandy beach ideal for surfers and those who prefer to discover the peaceful side of Naxos.
Abram beach: Another quiet beach in Naxos, ideal for windsurfing and for a traditional dinner at the local taverns.
Chilia Vrisi Beach: This little beach with pebbles, despite the fact that is at the north, it is well protected from the winds and has shallow waters.
This is where our little trip around the beaches of Naxos is ending. We are now returning to the beautiful and famous beach of Agios Prokopios and your room or suite in Lagos Mare Boutique Hotel after days of discovering the coastal part of Naxos Island.
